The NFL doesn’t respect it’s fans. Looking at the NFL with an objective eye, there is no other conclusion one can come to. Don’t ignore the outrageous costs to the non-fan. Every stadium in America was subsidized in someway by the local area populace - whether they ever witness a game in person or not. In some areas the Billionaire owner of the team borrowed tax dollars to build the stadium. Major Corporations do this every day. Telecoms conned the government - meaning we the tax payers - into laying fiber for the ‘Net. Now people in rich neighborhoods have 15M downstream and we ‘po’ folks still got dial up. It’s the greatest business model on the planet. It’s a new twist on the bait and switch. Why shouldn’t the NFL scoop it up and remix it?
It doesn’t matter how much tickets costs, people are still gonna by ‘em. Then they’ll buy a $6 hot dog and a couple $4 Cokes to wash that rat-dog down with. But it gets worse: the new Dallas stadium will have more corporate seating than any 2 NFL stadiums that you know by name. The people who live in the shadow of the building won’t be able to afford tickets, or food if they win tickets to a Cowboy game on the radio. I don’t know whether to slap someone or slap myself. It’s so sad I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. I’ll boycott the game in person and on TV, but it won’t matter. For every fed-up-fan like myself, there are 35,000 idiots like yourself climbing all over themselves to buy a ticket. And a jersey.
The NFL doesn’t respect its fans, and I don’t see why it should. While it fodders names like T.O. and Pacman Jones - it secretly moves games to its NFL network. Free television broadcasts is what helped the NFL scale the corpse of Major League Baseball. Now it wants to charge us.
