eMusic and McSweeney’s have partnered to do a new series of downloadable audio titles. The works, based on essays from McSweeney’s Quarterly Concern, will be available exclusively at the online music and spokenword retailer.
McSweeney’s has always done cool and interesting formats and packaging for their publications, so it’s not surprising that it would team up with a very popular (number 2, behind iTunes, if you ask them) online music store.
It will be interesting to see how well this series does, and even more so, if authors can see either eMusic or iTunes as a viable place to self-publish audio versions of previously unpublished works.
