One of my most-used resources on the web is a collection of links put together at For Web Designers. They have quite the range of topics, from stock photos to flash, blogs to design inspiration. They also have a list of some of the best resources for free fonts, one of which is Urban Fonts. The project I’m working on is for an internal site for a department within a major corporation. The department doesn’t have a logo, so as I’m concocting these designs I’ve been using a rather drab placeholder of type. I want to keep it simple and still only use type, but Century Gothic is a little too plain for my liking (at least as far as logos without an image go). So, I head to Urban Fonts and skim through the rather extensive library of freeware fonts they provide. I forget exactly which of the dozens of categories I was sifting through when I came across the most cleverly named font I’ve yet heard of: Enter Sansman.
Geek humor never fails.
If you’re ever daring enough to wear your nerd on your sleeve, check out Rumplo’s badass design:

A List Apart has some good ones, too. Either way, the humor that my fellow nerds harbor always brings a smile to my face.

i know about 16 people that really should have that shirt…
this one is great!
though the nerd in me had to double-check it and - smarty pants as I am - have to point out that either the green of the shirt is wrongly displayed or somebody’s monitor calibration is off (the green I get with that code is lighter and more yellowish).
all the same, I love it.
